Between geopolitical tensions in the Middle East affecting shipping routes and the strain of new U.S. tariffs, our industry is under immense pressure. Rising fuel costs and operational disruptions have made the environment increasingly complex for logistics providers everywhere.

However, in times such as these, the true strength of a network is revealed.

Across the JGC community, I have witnessed something truly remarkable. Members have come together with a spirit of cooperation and solidarity that goes far beyond ordinary business relationships. Time and again, partners have stepped forward to support fellow members by going beyond the call of duty to ensure that cargo moves, commitments are honoured, and relationships remain strong.

In several instances, this support has been extended even when commercial conditions, particularly the sharp increases in fuel and operational costs, have made pricing less competitive. Yet members have chosen partnership over short-term gain. These actions speak volumes about the values that define the JGC network.

This is the essence of who we are.

During these challenging times, JGC management has also intensified its engagement with members across the network. Our commitment is not only to facilitate connections, but to actively support our community and ensure that every member experiences the true value of belonging to JGC. This makes our upcoming 21st Annual Global Conference in Manila particularly vital. Scheduled for 15 to 18 May 2026, this summit arrives at a critical juncture. The trust created in those meeting rooms is precisely what allows our members to support one another with confidence and commitment, especially when the industry faces disruption.

It is a powerful reminder that while digital communication keeps us connected, nothing replaces the value of meeting in person.
